In your campaign, you must include the following aspects: • Key activities and content as part of the campaign. • Main advertising and marketing channels that will target your audience to make them aware of the new station. • Legal and ethical considerations. In this essay, I am going to explain how to create a marketing campaign that includes the use of social media channels to promote the campaign as a whole, while taking a broad range of legal and ethical issues into consideration. The brief states that My Life TV launches in December; From my own understanding of social media campaigns, I must start the marketing across social media platforms 6 months before the television station officially launches (this means that the campaign must start in June).

 4 (a) Explain the difference between a conglomerate and an independent company. Use examples to support your answer. (4 marks) A conglomerate is a company or organisation that is made up of other businesses called subsidiaries. For example, Disney, as Disney owns companies such as Marvel and Pixar. An independent company however, does not have the benefits of being conglomerate and cannot use vertical integration due to it not having any subsidiaries. Independent companies will have to rely on joint ventures, meaning that the company will work with another company with mutual benefits.
