LO1: Purpose and uses of social media

Where the audience access their products Sky is a company that provides TV content and WiFi, you can purchase their products from their website or you can call them. One Sky product: Sky TV Sky TV offers a channel guide for consumers; it provides a timetable for every programme on every available channel. Their are various channels of many genres, so it is suited well for a broad audience. It can be considered diverse in many ways, as it ranges from news channels to kids TV shows. Ethincally wise, there are many foreign channels such as news channels being broadcasted on Sky TV, which are also presented in different languages. This can be considered ethnically diverse.

LO1: Globalisation

 The production, distribution, and consumption of media products on a global scale, facilitating the exchange and diffusion of ideas cross-culturally. However, some have argued that media is actually a partial cause of globalisation, rather than just another globalised industry. Media is largely a cultural product, and the transfer of such a product is likely to have an influence on the recipient's culture. Increasingly, technology has also been propelling globalisation. LO1: Understand how online and social media products are used. LO2: Understand the impact of social media and globalisation media audiences and producers. LO3: Understand how global industries are social media. LO4: Know how to plan and manage a social media campaign. The exam is out of 60 marks, a pass grade is around 25 marks

1) a) i)  - Most people gradually started using their smartphones more to access television programmes. - After 2011, people who used their TV the most stayed relatively the same. ii)  - The performance on smartphones have gotten better overtime. - Smartphones are the easiest to transport, therefore making it easier to access television services anywhere and whenever. 2)  Netflix may be more popular than Amazon, as it has more titles to offer than Amazon. Netflix' target audience is very broad having a kids feature and many genres to offer. Amazon offers titles and content mainly for families, whereas Netflix has no fixed target audience. 3)  According to BARB, females use on demand services more than live streams services. This may be because the content being broadcasted on demand may be more targeted to women than men
