Use Fig. 1 and your own knowledge to answer the following questions.

1 (a) (i) Identify three interpretations that can be made about the relationship between social grade and streaming services.

1: Social grade C1 uses Netflix more than Now TV

2: Social grade C2 uses Now TV more than Netflix

3: Social grade D uses Netflix more than Amazon


(ii) Netflix is used less by Social grade C2 than Now TV because the C2 social grade are skilled manual workers.


(b) (i) 

1: Household size 4 uses the streaming services more that household size 3.

2: Household  3 uses Now TV less than household size 4


(ii) Now TV has more child friendly content than Netflix and Amazon

 4 (a) Explain the difference between a conglomerate and an independent company. Use examples to support your answer. (4 marks) A conglomerate is a company or organisation that is made up of other businesses called subsidiaries. For example, Disney, as Disney owns companies such as Marvel and Pixar. An independent company however, does not have the benefits of being conglomerate and cannot use vertical integration due to it not having any subsidiaries. Independent companies will have to rely on joint ventures, meaning that the company will work with another company with mutual benefits.
